Powerhouse, two sets of A0 posters with word compositions, inkjet print, 2009
The first set of prints shows the multi-authored word composition created during the 8-week free association performance of Powerhouse at Cambridge University Library in 2008. The first poster shows the narrative chain of 483 words which was displayed in the library (selected from 7236 submissions). The second poster shows the first and last word, and the words which were most frequently selected: House, Mouse and Play (4 times each), followed by Books, Cheese, Happy, Control, Power and Sad (3 times each).
Colour code: yellow (amber)/female, red (green)/ male (as identified by contributors when submitting their word), striped/ gender neutral.
The second set of posters shows the multi-authored word composition created at the artist’s family home, over the mirroring the live event of Powerhouse at the library. The first poster of the set shows the entire free association chain, and the second shows the first, last and most frequently selected words.
